Neuroscience Course Director Excellence Award

Neuroscience Course directors are dedicated educators who devote considerable time and energy to provide a valuable educational experience. Such experiences are often the first exposure of students to the field of neurology. This award recognizes individuals who have developed a robust educational program for pre-clerkship medical students.

Benefits

A qualified course director or a pair of co-directors will be selected annually to receive a certificate of recognition from the AAN. If no nominations are viewed as qualified by the selection committee, no award will be given that year. 

Eligibility

• Nominees must be an Active AAN member, which is defined as a member who is in good standing with their current dues. Posthumous nominations will not be accepted. 

• Nominees must be current Neuroscience course directors, co-directors, associate directors, or assistant directors who have been in the position for at least one year.  

• Priority may be given to members who have not previously received a Director Award (program, clerkship, or neuroscience course).  

• Only one nomination per institution will be accepted. Nominations are open to course co-directors if responsibilities are shared. In instances where universities have more than one campus, one nomination per campus will be accepted.  

• Online application  

• Confirmation of support from faculty or supervisor  

• Confirmation of support from the department chair, dean or dean’s representative (e.g., assistant/associate dean for faculty affairs, etc.)  

• Nominee Curriculum Vitae (CV)
